Antiques - Gilt Edged Cauldon English Flow Blue Fish Plates and Platter
Les Journees Calvert
This circa 1900 set of 12 antique Staffordshire flow blue plates was made by Cauldon England and feature the image of a large salmon leaping above the surface of a stream which is cascading over rocks. The central image is encircled within a band of aquatic vegetation and shells. The plates have scalloped rims accented with sponged gilt decoration. The plates come with a large 23.5" by 11.25" oval platter featuring the image of a speckled salmon swimming amongst a large clump of water plants. The shoulder of the platter is finished with the same decorative band found on the plates and also has a sponged gilt rim. The underside of the pieces bear Cauldon's stamped and impressed factory marks. This striking Staffordshire flow blue set displays beautifully and shows little sign of use. Great for display or use at the table.
